Adult Education Coordinator

              Essential functions
  • Inputs all required children and family information into CYS COPA computer program.
  • Transfers family and child enrollment information into database, enters physical and dental information into program database, and scans all forms to the CYS system.
  • Files all required forms into childrenĄ¯s folders, prepares documents to be signed by parents, and fills out all the applications for new enrollees.?
  • Assures that all folders are organized, and maintains a file system.
  • Supports other staff in the recruitment and selection of new students.
  • Weighs and measures all children twice a year and inputs information into the growth assessment files.
  • Assess and tests all kindergarten children with the NRS system in English language.
    Follows up on childrenĄ¯s health requirements.
  • Sends notices to parents about new physical and dental exams.
  • Helps in the classroom as an aide or in the after school program when needed.
  • Translates for parents when social worker is not available.
  • Answers the phone.

    Qualifications requirements
  • High school diploma
  • Willingness to understand Latino, Korean, and other Asian communities, cultures, languages, and histories; bilingual proficiency, strongly recommended.

           Essential functions
  • Coordinate adult community education programs, including ESL, US citizenship/civics, computer, financial literacy, and other leisure and recreational classes.?
  • Develop and maintain community education promotional materials, including outreach fliers and press releases.
  • Supervise community education contracted instructors, including regular meetings and oversight of all contracted work.
  • Administer paperwork and procedures necessary for program reporting and management.
  • Teach ESL, US citizenship/civics, and/or computer classes as needed.
  • Oversee the Community Technology Center, including administration, staffing, and client programs.
  • Attend Community Education meeting and agency staff meetings to coordinate work.
  • Assist with fundraising.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the Director of Community Education or Executive Director.
          Qualifications & requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related disciplines or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of direct social service experience
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Korean
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, speaking and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to juggle many different tasks simultaneously and complete them in a timely manner
  • Reports to Director of Community Education
